Your skin is a self care proposition, glow with us

Skin care is a form of self-care. What’s good for your skin is good for your body and mind. Visit with us to learn more starting next Monday, Feb 25. Let me know so I can send the links to you.
Plus, using clean skincare products that feel good is a great way to practice self-care.
✨ Beautiful skin starts within, literally. It requires healthy practices, not just products.
For example, your skin needs a nutrient-rich diet. You could apply the most expensive products,
but without inner nourishment, your skin will never be as radiant as it could be.
It’s time to enjoy Beauty Foods!
HOW TO NOURISH YOUR SKIN
1. 🍓 Enjoy Antioxidant-Rich Foods
Antioxidants help protect your skin from the oxidative stress and free radicals that can
contribute to aging. Some Beauty Foods high in antioxidants? Berries, citrus fruits, leafy
greens, and nuts.
2. 🥑 Consume Healthy Fats, Especially Omega-3, 6, and 9 🐟
Wholesome fats are essential for skin flexibility and moisture! Healthy fats are so
important for your skin that 3 of the Beauty Foods––fatty fish, avocado, nuts and seeds–
–are loaded with them. We will talk about the almighty omegas tomorrow!
3. 🥗 Eat a Balanced, Nutrient-Dense Diet 🍏
Vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and wholesome fats and proteins provide essential
nutrients for your skin. Think fruits, veggies, whole grains, lean proteins, and foods with
healthy fats.
4. 🚫 Limit Sugar and Processed Foods
Refined sugars and highly processed foods may contribute to inflammation and may
negatively impact skin health.

Nutrition and Cardiovascular Disease

From Dr. Katie DiNello’s presentation tonight, a huge clinical pearl. We should stop beating around the bush on this, let go of procrastinating, the word has been out for some years now and we still have this, CVD, as our #1 killer worldwide. The fruits and vegetables do not have a plot against us. Oh, maybe I will have my salad tomorrow doesn’t cut it. What it may do is cut the number of days you will be around to have a salad. Take a look at the slide. If you are interested in a 20-30% removal of CVD burden, It takes less than a Calorie a minute to call me.

Omega 3 Essential Oils for heart, brain and more

Omega-3s are essential fatty oils that are important components of the membranes surrounding each and every cell in your body. These oils are key in supporting heart, immune, brain, eye, skin and joint health. Make sure you are taking the full spectrum from sustainable fish oil. This is also hugely important in pre natal, during pregnancy and post natal times. Take a look at the chart for more info. Special needs may need more, or a different form–oil, gellys, vegan. Let me know about your needs and questions..

Exercise to live longer

“More than any other tactical domain we discuss in this book (OUTLIVE, Peter Attia, MD), exercise has the greatest power to determine how you will live out the rest of your life. Being unfit carried a greater risk than any of the cardiac risk factors examined. Cardiorespiratory fitness is inversely associated with long term mortality with no observed upper limit of benefit. There is a dose dependent response–the fitter you are, the longer you live.
Those with low muscle mass in 50 year old and older subjects were at 40-50 % greater risk of mortality than controls. It is not the mere muscle mass that matters but the strength of those muscles, their ability to generate force.
Subjects with low muscle strength were at double the risk of death, while those with low muscle mass and/or low muscle strength, plus metabolic syndrome, had a 3 to3.33 times greater risk of all cause mortality.
This chapter, Chapter 11, EXERCISE, The most powerful Longevity Drug, really caught my attention. I went right out to hike up MT Tom a bit. Many people wish exercise was a real drug and they could just take a pill. The antithesis is the reality. Not exercising causes you to take a pill, most likely several different ones for a long time. Yes, I do heartily recommend this book. Read 10 pages a day and get ‘er done. It is full of clinical pearls on multiple subjects that will aid you in living a longer and healthier life. The time is now as most of our illnesses incubate for many years before they fester. Catching them early, before you are broken, is the time to do it. I am here to help, get in touch, it is easy to do

When to Call 911

pg. 5: When to call 911–In some women, the first signs and symptoms of heart disease can be:
Heart attack–Chest pain or discomfort, upper back or neck pain, indigestion, heartburn, nausea or vomiting, extreme fatigue, dizziness and shortness of breath.
Fluttering feelings in the chest (palpitations).
Shortness of breath, sudden fatigue, or swelling of the feet, ankles, legs or abdomen.
Be aware of these facts to be able to do self care, care for others. We take your heart health very seriously. You should too. Questions? There should be. The last several posts are really the tip of the issue, and this is need to know and do stuff. Having done CPR on several people I can only suggest that is a grim time to be be looking for a fix. Heart disease is a long term acquired affliction, mostly measurable too, and few do that, especially early and on. There are big clues in the new book Outlive by Peter Attia, MD. The above info is largely from Vitamin Retailer, Feb 24, editorial by Janet Poveromo. I have what you need of those, too. We are at your service… Bruce
