Men’s Health and Diet and fertility

The relatively ignored subject of nutrition for men, and the increased value of it all, regarding fertility, is unfortunate. Obviously the male contributes half of the DNA. Why wouldn’t we want that contribution to be at optimum? So let’s get to it… We have previously introduced the Mediterranean Diet, the most researched of all of them. This is the Classic one, not the American, or individually made up one. That means lifestyle that includes daily physical activity, local foods, fresh, social eating, and a few other neat things. OK, a well rounded choice of fruits, vegetables, some meat, dairy, olive oil, and so on. 30 different veg/fruits per week is being talked about. Red wine, some others, in limited quantity (very limited), none is probably better. Minerals, vitamins, fish oil, are all important. Supplementation can be minimized with this lifestyle, and are available when advised. The quality, efficacy, safety of these vary drastically, within labels as within the industry. This is why you should work with a Certified Fertility Dietitian. I looked at some heavily advertised supplements today-Prenatal, etc. They were deficient in key nutrients, and expensive. Get the right stuff!!! Just because they say “Prenatal” doesn’t mean they are worth the investment. The continuing inability to become pregnant is also related 50% of the time to something going on with the prospective father-slow motility, low numbers of sperm, overweight, alcohol on board, lack of exercise, and more. Men are often resistant about seeking advice. It won’t hurt and may make an important person in your life very happy. Just do it. You can message me, no one else will know…
