Literacy and Nutrition, why we are in trouble

Nutrition and wellness things are usually on my mind, and then the info below came today. And I think there are at least 2 connections., perhaps we’ll relate to more. A poorly nourished brain and body can’t think, act, or be physically active due to low energy reserves and some less than robust bodily/ biochemical functions. It is likely to be depressed and have no desire to do or accomplish much. The stats quoted are about reading rates and proficiency. The brain is dysfunctional. How is it going to read? It doesn’t want to read. It may not have the skill sets needed to read and comprehend. Houston, we have a problem…!!! May I suggest this is largely related to our current societal issues? What is the answer, are the answers? Not in the info is the stat that the average American reads less than one book per year.
