Our microbiome and -biota are on my mind. the SAD, Standard American Diet, may be why we are the sickest population in the world. Obviously, from today’s story, what we put into our mouth matters, for good or bad. We have the bad well rehearsed. The average adult is overweight, or more. Our kids are significantly overweight, even having high blood pressure very early. Why wait.
What is SAD? 29# French fries, 23# pizza, 24# ice cream (all 4 food groups, right?), soda 53 gallons, artificial sweeteners 24#, sodium-47% more than recommended, per year. And, 2700 Calories a day while being mostly sedentary. All of this affects our microbiome and microbiota, mostly negatively. For starters, that has great impact on how robust our immune function is. Why do we abuse it so? We have easy and painless remedies for this, a fresh start, a reset, that you can carry forward.
